History of the local brewery Calwer-Eck in Stuttgart

On April 24, 1987, the time had come: Stuttgart's first local brewery opened its doors - the Calwer-Eck was born! The aim was to establish a restaurant that does not specialize in a specific target group, but offers the right atmosphere for every guest, age and mood, attracting a diverse audience. Today, with its more than 25 years of existence, the Calwer-Eck is the first local brewery in Stuttgart to call itself a classic and gastronomic long-time favorite.

The success story of our local brewery in the center of Stuttgart
The successful concept of the local brewery Calwer-Eck in Stuttgart is in principle quite simple and is based on a skillful interaction of various factors: On the one hand the relaxed atmosphere, caused by the perfect layout of the bar, bar tables, livelier and quieter seats and of course the large food buffet , where some of the dishes are prepared in front of the guests. And all this in a very own, but also noble furniture, which was perfectly arranged from a mixture of Art Nouveau and rustic wood. And just because nothing was fundamentally changed or rebuilt since the opening of our local brewery, today's patina - the now legendary green rust-proof coating of the local brewery Calwer-Eck - makes the place even more beautiful and adds to the special atmosphere.
Local brewery Calwer-Eck - the first brewery in Stuttgart
We are the first brewery in Stuttgart to look back on an interesting history. The brewery was built in Hungary by his Royal Highness Luitpold von Bayern - Prince and Bierbrauer - and personally used in Stuttgart. Since then, the Calwer-Eck-Bräu has been brewed unchanged according to its own recipe - a bottom-fermented, cellar-fresh, naturally cloudy beer. It is subject to the German Purity Law of 1516, but it is unlike most beers: it is neither filtered nor pasteurized, as it comes fresh from the production fresh on the table and such a preservation is therefore not necessary.

This makes the Calwer-Eck-Bräu a full-flavored and unfiltered specialty beer , which still contains all valuable ingredients such as yeast, protein, enzymes, vitamins and natural flavors. In our beer are little so-called bitterness, which is noticeable in a pleasant and pleasant taste.

If one considers the total production volume since the foundation of the first local brewery in Stuttgart on the urban population, in all these years every Stuttgart farmer has drunk far more than ten glasses of Calwer-Eck-Bräu. A value that impresses and pleases us. After all, it was our goal right from the start that Stuttgart has a location where people meet, celebrate and feel good - and that for everyone!
